Who
am I?
Hello.
I’m Allison Hatch and I am 20 years old. I live on a
small farm in Ohio. I find inspiration for art in every edge
of the woods, through the pastures where the horses and other
critters spend their days and even up to the entrance of our
home. I love creating things and I’ll use anything that
I can get my hands on, even a pack crayons and a napkin in
restaurant will do. |
About
my past
Like many artists, I started drawing when I could first hold
a writing implement. This is where I started my journey. I’ve
been drawing ever since I could remember. My family always
liked it when I finished a drawing and encouraged me to do
more.
During elementary school I rarely showed my drawings to others
because I usually got made fun of. I remember some of my teachers
noticing my drawings and finding sculptures of animals made
out of paperclips, wire and erasers inside my desk. They always
made sure I had supply of paper or other materials when I
had nothing else to do and encouraged my creativity.
My first art class was in fifth grade and I started to look
forward to it more than recess. We explored all kinds of art
materials and how to use all kinds of tools. |
|
| My
art teacher talked to me about the advanced art class and
amazingly, going into my seventh year, I made it into advanced
art class. I learned a lot about the elements in art and I
began to enter my art in art shows and in the local fair that
I showed 4-H animals at.
Going into high school mostly we worked on art history, which
began to get a little boring. Then my life turned around a
bit over the summer when my family and I moved to another
school district. I was worried a little and hoped the new
school would have an art class because art was my best subject
in school. Luckily, the new school had an art class and the
art teacher had us explore all kinds of new things. My senior
year I joined an art club and we went on field trips to see
art museums. When I graduated I received a graduation honor
cord for most artistic and all A’s in my art class. |

In
the past two years since I have graduated I still try to learn
new things continuously to improve my art. Such as making
richer colors and making my pieces even more interesting to
others. I am hoping that I can share my artwork with many
people in my lifetime.
I must send many thanks to my family for helping me, encouraging
me and for assisting me in getting my artwork online.
Well, that’s all I can think of to say here. If you
have questions, you are more than welcome to email
me any time. |
